Kentucky Venues Promotes from Within for Executive Director of Event Services
Kentucky Venues announced the internal promotion of Tim Postlethwait to Executive Director of Event Services, effective today. Postlethwait, a lifelong leader in the special events industry, has served thousands of events at Kentucky Venues’ facilities over his 30-year career.
This comes as the Kentucky Exposition Center prepares to welcome Equip Exposition, the third largest trade show in the United States, from October 21 through 24. Last year, the international landscape, outdoor living, and equipment sold out all 1.2 million square feet of exhibit space and is expected to draw over 28,500 attendees from all 50 states and 50 countries.
Postlethwait joined Kentucky Venues in 2010 as one of the founding members of the newly created Venue Services department. Over the past 16 years, he advanced through roles including Venue Services Event Manager, Assistant Director, and, most recently, Director of Venue Services and Access Control.
“I’m deeply honored to continue working alongside such a skilled team of professionals across both venues to create experiences that make our clients and guests feel welcomed, valued, and inspired,” said Tim Postlethwait, Executive Director of Event Services. "As we continue showcasing the scale and combined capabilities of our venues, our team remains focused on delivering excellence and ensuring every event’s success.”
As Executive Director of Event Services, Postlethwait will spearhead essential departments including Event Management, Access Control, Venue Services, and Ticketing across all Kentucky Venues properties, including the Kentucky Exposition Center and Kentucky International Convention Center.
"Tim Postlethwait represents everything we value about developing talent from within," said David S. Beck, President & CEO of Kentucky Venues. "His three decades of experience in this industry, combined with his 16 years of leadership here and his deep knowledge of our facilities, make him uniquely qualified to ensure seamless coordination across our departments as we execute major events while managing the largest renovation and expansion in our history."
