LOUISVILLE, Ky. (April 29, 2022) — Kentucky Venues is excited to welcome Amanda Cloyd back as our Executive Director of Human Resources. She will oversee day-to-day operations for human resources and payroll for both the Kentucky Exposition Center and Kentucky International Convention Center.

“I am truly humbled and honored to serve once again as your Executive Director of Human Resources. I never intended to retire early from Kentucky Venues, but I am thankful I could be by my father’s side as he battled liver cancer,” said Amanda.

After her father’s passing, they discovered he had received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star for his service in Vietnam, an honor that he had never shared with his family.

“I hope to continue my father’s legacy of leading with a servant’s heart, remembering that people are most important in life and in business. Attracting and retaining good people drives our success, and I am excited to get down to business,” said Amanda.

Prior to joining Kentucky Venues in 2019, Amanda served as the Human Resource Commander/Executive Advisor for the Kentucky State Police. Previously, she also worked in human resources at the Kentucky Court of Justice and Kentucky Department of Agriculture. She brings more than two decades of experience in HR and the public sector to the Kentucky Venues team.

Since her retirement, she served as an HR Consultant for Mercedez-Benz’s Automotive Apprenticeship Group, a Mental Health Case Manager for Intrust Healthcare Mental Health Counseling and as the Executive Advisor for the Department of Advocacy.
